Changing The World One Play At A Time - 1644 Words
Amber Geroy Engwr 301 Professor Collins 22 April 2015 Changing the World: One Play at a Time Throughout history women have fought to be treated equivalent to men. In todayââ¬â¢s society, although there are still improvements to be made, it is easy to see that the female population has made a significant step towards equality and independence. Looking back about one hundred years ago, gender roles were still very specific and consisted of the man working and supporting the family, and the woman taking care of the home and the family. Women had very little voice in that time and were often treated with little respect due to the cultural norm that men were superior. Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters examined the Wright house very carefully, wondering if Mrs. Wright murdered her husband or not. Throughout the play the reader is not doubted of the fact that Mrs. Wright was her husbandââ¬â¢s murderer but is also intrigued to finding out what caused her to do such a thing. Although Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters were undetermined of Mrs. Wrightââ¬â¢s actions, they sympathized with her and continued to search for more clues to protect her throughout the play. You can see in the following lines between the two women that they fought to see the good in Mrs. Wright although they were frightened by the truth: MRS. HALE. Mrs. Peters? MRS. PETERS. Yes. Mrs. Hale? MRS. HALE. Do you think she did it? MRS. PETERS. (In a frightened voice) Oh, I donââ¬â¢t know. MRS. HALE. Well, I donââ¬â¢t think she did. Asking for an apron and her Shawl. Worrying about her fruit. (606) In summary Trifles tells a story about a woman who murdered her husband and two women who break out of their gender roles as they hide evidence from their husbands in order to protect Mrs. Wright. A Doll House has a similar centric idea of marriage to that of Trifles, but instead presents the womanââ¬â¢s turning action in the story at the beginning rather than extending it throughout the play. The audience discovers quickly that Nora Helmer, a woman who appeared to conform to the standard gender role, had been lying to her husband and going against his will for ten years while paying off

Alfred Marshall And His Contributions - 839 Words
Alfred Marshall was born on July 26, 1842, in London, England. He was raised by his father William Marshall, a cashier at a bank in England and his mother, Rebecca Oliver. He also had four siblings: Charles William Marshall, Walter Marshall, Agnes Marshall, and Mabel Marshall. His family was middle class who encouraged Alfred to be a clergyman. His father strongly encouraged him to attend Oxford University when Alfred received a scholarship; however, he attended St. Johnââ¬â¢s College against his fatherââ¬â¢s wishes. Alfred Marshall was known for his extraordinary talent in mathematics earning him the most prestigious degree offered at St. Johnââ¬â¢s College: The Mathematical Tripos. The first theory presented by John Stuart Mill examined the relationship of the values between commodities and their production costs. John Stuart Mill theorized that the value depends on the efforts used to manufacture. The second theory presented by W.S. Jevons predicted that the theory of value was based on the idea of maximizing utility and that the value depended on the demand. Although Alfred Marshall utilized both of these theories, his focus was on the cost. He stated that, in the short run, the market value depends mainly on the demand but that the supply can never be changed. In an intermediate time period, the production can be increased by facilities, such as machines or buildings, but the cost of the facilities doesnââ¬â¢t have a lot of influence because these facilities do not need renewal during that time. Marshall noted that the variable costs influence the sale price heavily during this period. Since machines and buildings wear out and have to be replaced in the long run, the sale price must be high so that it would be enough to cover the costs. Si nce Alfred Marshall had classified the costs by fixed, variable, and the time available, it represented one of his successful contributions in the economic theory. Do Words Matter? Words are very powerful, and sometimes the words we use offend people. Freedom of speech is highly valued but what happens when your freedom becomes hurtful or disrespectful to someone else? There are so many different kinds of people and different things that offend each person. In this day where we are more inclined to say whatever we want, we see more and more offense being taken to the words that get said. Its hard to understand why certain words can be insulting to someone when it may not seem that way to you. They do this by making up words that directly degrade a person by their differences. The word Queer is an example of a word that has actually changed from a homop hobic slur to, in some eyes, a non-offensive title. While most people would still say that they dont feel comfortable hearing the word queer, more people have become immune to it because of television. The Editors of Society state that Now queer is sneaking into the mainstream- and taking on a hipster edge. Back in the 1920s using the word queer was not taken lightly. In todays society with television shows using queer in the title of their show, for example, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, the word has a different impact than it used to. There are unusual words that have offended feminists for a long period of time. Some of the words include fireman, authoress, handyman, and hostess. These titles through feminists eyes can be perceived as offensive and degrading. Many people believe that feminists are man haters but almost all feminists would claim that false. The stereotype of feminism is often depicted in a negative way while the truth is that its just the act of fighting for a good cause. While many think of the word feminist negatively, the author believes that feminist should have more positive connotations. Givin a Million Dollars, but Can Not Spend It on Yourself Free Essays
If I was given a million dollars that could not be spent on myself, my main goal would be to have fun. I am sure there are tons of completely decent charities and organizations that could put a large cash donation to great use, but just giving away all that money to charity sounds completely BORING! I can think of some great ways to spend one million dollars, while having fun and helping people at the same time. This sounds like a great idea to me! The first obstacle I would face is to find a way to have fun, but to not officially spend the money on myself. We will write a custom essay sample on Givin a Million Dollars, but Can Not Spend It on Yourself or any similar topic only for you Order Now Then I would need to find a worthwhile candidate who would be willing to share a $250,000 gift with me. Iââ¬â¢m hoping this person would take me to Italy and the French Riviera. This has to be why people have friends. I would write a check for two hundred and fifty thousand dollars to Nathaniel Pardon, my best friend! Try to imagine your best friend in the world has just received a $250,000 sum of cash. Vacation time! We would bounce around Europe, stay in drastically expensive hotels, and see the sites. Another part of our fun in Europe would be to host a street skateboarding competition at the local skate park. The winner would get a $100,000 grand prize, donated by me. The grand prize is enough money to draw all the professional skateboarders into the competiton. I would make some very impressive new friends. At the end of a three day competition a winner would be chosen and paid in cash. No corporate sponsors would be needed. What a lovely thought! All of this would be for the progression of the sport I love. This competition would help many people, skaters and friends alike; but most especially the winner. With $650,000 left, I would return back to the U. S. to my family. There are some serious issues in my family that a lot of money could easily correct. My mother and little sister recently moved to Louisiana due to the recession in Detroit. In order to get my family back together, I would buy my mother a nice house in Metro Detroit, close to where my family lives. Sheââ¬â¢s a shopper, so I would also give her $50,000 for spending money. It seems extravagant, but she has put up with a lot of trouble from me, so it is the least I could do. With a house and tremendous amount of money to handle all financial issues, my mother and sister would be anxious to move back. Even though it might seem that this money is being spent to secure my happiness, it is not. My little sister misses her family in Michigan a great deal. This would be for her, above anyone else. Once my little sister is home again and things are great, all I would wish to do is help other families in the same way. With the remaining money, I would start an organization I would call ââ¬Å"Reconnecting Families in Needâ⬠(R. F. I. N. ). An organization of my creation, designed to help reunite family members with their loved ones and do what is necessary to keep them together and secure. I feel this is a much needed program. After all, what in this world is more important than family? Out of the million dollars, $250,000 would be used to fund Reconnecting Families in Need. A lot of families would be helped. There are still plenty of other places and people I would like to help. In order to keep up my helping spree, I would use the remainder of the one million dollars and invest it in a non-profit investment banking firm. The firm would be run by Wall Street professionals who want to make a difference. Money made through the firm would be used to further the mission of R. F. I. N. and its affiliates. Hopefully, this would allow the R. F. I. N. to last a very long time. My money would then be lending a hand to thousands of families. If I was given a million dollars that could not be spent on myself, I would be forced to learn the value of helping others. Without the option to blow the million dollars on myself, I would focus on doing what I could to aid people in need. I would find personal uses for this money, but as I have learned, I would probably find more happiness in the pleasure of others. There are families out there who need support, and given the opportunity, I would love to be the one to help them. How to cite Givin a Million Dollars, but Can Not Spend It on Yourself, Papers

Question: Discuss and provide an example answering three questions regarding subprime mortgage. With an example explain possible causes of financial crisis. Explain how financial crisis affectedbusinesses in your own country and other countries. Answer: Introduction: The world changed after the month of September of the year 2008. This all began as the slump in the country of United States and has now become the global crisis. All the rich as well as the poor countries became its target. This subprime mortgage crisis along with the crumple of the global financial markets led to the recession for the world economy. The country of Bangladesh is not so globalised but its exports depend upon the foreign trade. But its exports of the readymade garments, shrimps, and leather is heavily the demand of the western countries. Therefore, when the world experienced the recession, the unemployment rose, there was a decline in the income of the average consumers of the US and this led to a very negative impact of the export potentials. This report aims at discussing the causes of the subprime mortgage crisis and its impact on the world and on the country of Australia. Causes of the subprime mortgage crisis: It was being said that the reason behind the subprime mortgage crisis was the financial literacy. The banks were the ones that were handing out the loans along with the rating agencies. These rating agencies were working so recklessly that they filed to figure out that there were a pile of the subprime liar loans that had a rating of triple A. the mortgage brokers such as the Countrywide Financial were the ones that encouraged the wanted to be home owners to exaggerate their earnings. The media encouraged the people to buy the homes by saying that the times were different and this held good even when they were hugely in debt and had no money whatsoever to repay that debt. The banks and the lenders trusted the distribution channels that had belonged to the different roof and this took place through the mortgage brokers and the correspondents. They encouraged the people that were working for them to take as much loans as they could even if they were unable to repay the same. They did not consider the fact of the quality standards loans so as to ensure whether they would be able to be repaid or not. They just though that the loans were being sliced down and sold in bulk, so they give the same whose credit rating was negative. The mortgage meltdown began when the United States housing bubble busted and it all began during the year 2001 and reached its peak in the year 2005. The housing bubble is the economic bubble that took occurred in the local and the global estate markets. It is defined as the rapid increase in the valuation of the real property until there were some unsustainable levels that reached in relation to the incomes and the other such indicators of affordability. These rapid increases were followed by the fall in the prices of the houses and resulted in the mortgage debt that was higher than the price of the property. Effect of subprime mortgage crisis on Bangladesh: The following is the table for the value of Export of Bangladesh by Major Commodities during 2004-2011: Commod- ity 2004-05 2005-06 2006-07 2007-08 2008-09 2009-10 2010-11* a) Primary Goods Raw Jute 80 148 149 165 148 196 268 Tea 16 12 7 15 12 6 2 Frozen Food 390 459 515 534 455 445 471 Agricultural Product 41 105 88 120 122 189 186 Other Primary Goods 26 49 75 153 133 53 53 Total Primary Goods 553 773 832 988 870 884 980 b) Manufacturing Goods Jute goods 246 361 321 318 264 540 569 Leather 211 257 266 284 177 226 210 Naphtha, furnace oil 37 88 84 185 142 301 196 Readymade garments 3538 4084 4658 5167 5919 6013 5962 Knitwear 2148 3817 4554 5533 6429 6483 6605 Chemical Product 121 206 215 216 280 103 68 Shoe 68 95 136 170 187 204 222 Handicraft 4 4 8 5 6 4 3 Engineering products 42 111 237 220 189 311 222 Other mfg. products 663 730 867 1025 1096 1527 1170 Total mfg. goods 7050 9753 11346 13123 14695 15713 15227 Grand total 7603 10526 12178 14111 15565 16597 16207 Annual Change 16.10 21.63 15.69 15.87 10.31 6.63 40.30 After the collapse of the subprime mortgage crisis of the country of United States, many of the countries of the world got into deep depression. The country of Bangladesh whose economy was least dependent upon the economies of the other countries was less vulnerable to the risks since it was already taking the steps so as to shield itself from the adverse effects of the other economies. About 90% of the exports of Bangladesh is dependent upon United States and other such developed countries. The adverse effect of the recession had a negative effect on the growth of the export of the country. The country did try not to get affected by the recession since it held its head high during the first 6 months by not allowing the figure of exports of being dropped. But soon the country too started showing the effects and this impacted the exports. Though United States witnessed a serious meltdown, the currency started falling but the Bangladeshi Taka still remained fairly stable when compared with the US $. As the result, the exports became less competitive but the imports became cheaper. The exports of many of the items were turned down but the price of the essential commodities and the raw materials also declined in the domestic market. Conclusion: The main cause of the subprime mortgage crisis were the fall in the prices of the houses in the United States. This got coupled with the poor lending practices by the credit rating agencies and the financial institutions. This further led to the restrained economic growth of the country and led many of the people to lose their jobs. References: business.cch.com, (2015). How their decision making could be related to capital budgeting techniques such as, Internal Rate of Return,in relation to Capital Budgeting Techniques? 2. Explain and identify similarities and differences between the following two models? Answers: 1. Sensitivity analysis: Capital budgeting can be defined as looking forward. When dealing with the anticipated resources and demands uncertainty forms the major factor. Sensitivity analysis can be defined as the statistical tool, which helps in determining the consequential deviations from the anticipated value (Bodie, Kane and Marcus 2014). Sensitivity analysis is concerned with locating the amount through which one can change the data input to generate the output of the liner-programming frameworkto comparatively remain unchanged. This assists in defining the sensitivity of data that is supplied for the problem and helps in measuring the optimum levels required for each of the input. Supporting the process of decision making and developing necessary recommendations required for decision makers. This helps in facilitating proper testing of robustness of the results derived. Sensitivity Analysis helps in enhancing the process of communication from the modelers to the decision makers by providing recommendations towards more trustworthy, comprehensible, convincing or credible decisions. Sensitivity analysis helps in increasing the understanding and quantification of the systems which helps in understanding the relationships amid the input and output variables (Borgonovo and Plischke 2016). Sensitivity analysis helps in development of model, which helps in searching and locating errors in the model. It is noteworthy to denote that to perform a sensitivity analysis all the necessary inputs and considerations are associated with aprocedure in order to yield the output (Dantzig 2016). For instance, a framework of inputs and considerations of an organisation is concerned with producing a new product mightcomprise of information concerning the projectedobtainability of raw material, rate of inflation aamount of workforce engaged in the research and development activity. The output will be regarded as the new profit, which will be produced by the fresh product (Vanderbei 2015). Therefore, sensitivity analysis involves altering each variable and monitors what compels changes in the output. Usually only one variable is alteredat once and all the other factors remained fixed at their base value. This helps in easy determination of number of variable effecting the output. However, it is noteworthy to denote that not all the inputs may be independent as changing inputs at one period is not concerned with the interaction amid the inputs. Figure 1: Figure reflecting sensitivity analysis (Source Cohon2013) Sensitivity analysis helps the management as the methodology of measuring the quantity of risk involved in the projected venture. Sensitivity analysis also facilitates computing the effect of variations relating to several quantifiable elements of a plan and helps the management to recognise the probable pitfalls (Luenberger and Ye 2015). Management can made the use of the sensitivity analysis, as a tool to locate the elements of a plan if changed to some extent will create an influence on the consequence of a project. It is noteworthy to denote that business engages in several form of risk since there is no assurance that a business will earn revenue. Organisationendeavours to reduce the degree of risk as much as possible by remaining engaged in actions that helps the business in earning profit. Managers usually makes the use of sensitivity analysis before executing the plan of a new venture of business activity. Sensitivity analysis helps the managers to assess the factors that wou ld help the project to yield profit by creating an impact on the net profit value of the planned activity (Charneset al. 2013). Managers determine the process of administering risk involved in the new project or activity provided their indulgence following the use of sensitivity analysis. Scenario analysis: Scenario analysis can be defined as the procedure of approximating the anticipated value of portfolio on a given period. This involves assuming the exact deviations in the values of the portfolio securities or key elements that takes place such as the change in the rate of interest (Gelmanet al. 2014). Scenario analysis is largely used to govern the changes in the value of portfolio concerning the unfavourable event, which might be used to evaluate a theoretical worst scenario. As a tool, sensitivity analysis consists of computing different rate of reinvestment for anticipated returns that is reinvested during the investment horizon. Depending upon the principles of statistics scenario analysis provides a procedure to estimate deviation in the value of portfolio. Such deviation is based on the occurrence of numerous circumstances which is referred as scenarios following the principles of what if analysis. The scenario analysis can be used as tool to measure the amount of risk, which is present in the given investment associated with variety of probable events ranging from highly probability to highly improbable (Luenberger and Ye 2015). Based on the results derived from analysis, an investor can measure the degree of risk present falling within his comfort zone. There are several different ways of approaching scenario analysis. One of the collective method is determining the standard deviation of day-to-day or monthly security returns and then calculating the anticipated value for each of the portfolio that generates return having standard deviation above or lower than the average return. Through this method aforecaster can obtain a sensible amount of certainty concerning the change in the value of a portfolio during a given time period. Scenario analysis process is used to measure the potential investment scenarios, which can be applied to several financial circumstances to determine the shift in values based on theoretical situations. From a consumers perspective, an individual can use the scenario analysis to evaluate certain financial outcome while making a purchase on credit as opposed to saving funds for cash purchase. Businesses on the other hand can make the use of scenario analysis to determine the probable financial results of certain decisions (Charneset al. 2013). For example, selecting one of two facilities or storefronts from which business functions can be conducted. This may consist of considerations such as differences in rent, charges associated with utilities and insurance or any kind of benefit that may be available in one location but not in other location. 2. Capital asset pricing model: The capital asset pricing model is considered as the most well-known model for determination of anticipated return on securities and other financial assets. It is regarded as the asset-pricing model since the price of an asset can be backed off once the anticipated return is determined. Furthermore, the anticipated amount of return derived from the CAPM or any other kind of asset pricing model may be used to discount the future cash flows (Barberiset al. 2015). Hence, such discounted amount of cash flow is then added to determine the price of an asset. The capital asset pricing model presented by William Sharpe and John Lintner marks the establishment of an asset pricing theory. The attraction of CAPM is largely due to the simple logic and intuitively pleasing predictions concerning the procedure to measure the risk along with the relation between the anticipated rate of return and risk. The model assumes the risk of investors as averse and at the time of making portfolio selection, it considers the mean variance concerning one period investment return (Nghiem 2015). Precisely, the relevant portfolio choice by the investors is mean variance efficient, which reduces the variance in portfolio return. The common notion behind the theory of CAPM is that the investors need to compensated in two ways namely, time value of money and risk. The time value of money is represented by the risk free rate and provides compensation to the investors for placing their money in any investment over a period (Dionne, Li and Okou 2013). The risk free rate can be considered as the yield on the government bond like US treasuries. The CAPM theory lays down that the anticipated amount of return of a security or the portfolio is equivalent to the rate of risk free rate with the risk of premium. If the anticipated rate of return fails to meet the required amount of return then investment are not taken into the consideration. Capital market line: The capital market line can be defined as the kind of graph, which arises from the capital asset pricing model. The Capital asset pricing model is used to determine the theoretically suited required rate of return on a particular asset when such assets about to form a part of the existing and well performing portfolio (Huesecken, Overesch and Tassius 2016). The capital market line is a useful tool, which helps in determining the rate of return amount of efficient portfolios. The analysis of capital market line relies on the risk free rate of return with the amount of risk involved in the portfolio. The Sharpe ratio derived from certain computation highlights the proportion of risk and extra return, which a portfolio provides. Portfolio having the highest amount of Sharpe ratio is considered as the market portfolio. Eachportfolio, which is included in the market portfolio,is optimized for a specified sum of risk. Due amount of consideration is given to the sum of risk which is associa ted with the particular asset. According to the capital asset pricing model the market portfolio lays down the efficient frontier. The efficient frontier can be considered as the ingathering of portfolios. When the market ratio is combined with the risk free asset, it is capable of generating higher rate of return than the efficient frontier (Christensen, Hail and Leuz 2016). The combination of market portfolio and the risk free rate paves the birth of capital market line. Several experts have expressed their opinion of preferring capital market line over the efficient frontier. The main reason behind such preference is that Capital Market Line takes into the consideration the additional risk of risk free asset in the portfolio. Figure 2: Figure representing Capital Market Line (Source: Christensen, Hail and Leuz 2016) Capital asset pricing model provides a graphical return on the market risk and return on assets for a given time period. The capital market line acts in the form of liner combinations of the risk free asset and portfolio. Thus, portfolio under the capital market line is considered as mediocre since it reflects new efficient set (Lee and Su 2014). Capital market line is assumed to remain within the capital asset pricing model since it can highlight the rate of return for efficient portfolios, which in most probable scenarios faces the risk of market portfolio, and risk free rate of return. Difference and similarities between the capital asset pricing model and the capital market line: The difference between the capital assets pricing model and the capital market line are is that the capital market line represents the line, which reflects the rate of return and relies on the risk free rate of return along with the level of risk for a particular portfolio (Pianosiet al. 2016). One of the major differences between the capital market line and the Capital asset pricing model is the procedure of measuring the risk factors. For capital market, line standard deviation is used to measure the risk whereas for Capital asset pricing model beta coefficient is used to determine the risk factors. One of major similarity between the capital assets pricing model and the capital market line is derived by drawing a tangible line from the point of interception where the anticipated rate of return is equivalent to the rate of risk free return. The capital market line determines the risk by using the concept of standard deviation or by implementing the total risk factors (Jagricet al. 2015). On the other hand, the Capital asset pricing model measures the risk through beta, which helps in determining the risk for security contributing to the portfolio. Another key difference between the capital market line and the Capital asset pricing model is that while the capital market line graphs defines the efficient portfolios, the Capital asset pricing model determines both the aspects of efficient and non-efficient portfolios. At the time of computation of returns, the anticipated amount of return for the capital market line portfolio is highlighted on the Y-axis. In contrary to this, the Capital asset pricing model the return for securities is represented along the X-axis (Gelmanet al. 2014). The standard deviation of the portfolio is highlighted on the X-axis for capital market line while the beta value of securities is determined on the X-axis for Capital asset pricing model. The market portfolio and the risk free assets are determined by the CML however, all the security factors is determined by the CAPM. Literature Review Impact of Social Media Marketing
Question: Discuss about the Literature Reviewfor Impact of Social Media Marketing. Answer: Introduction With the social media gaining considerable popularity in recent times, increasing numbers of businesses are adopting this platform in order to extend their reach to increasing numbers of people. While social media is fast becoming one of the potent tools of marketing, one of the questions that remain persistent is its effectiveness in influencing the purchasing behaviour of the consumer. Hence, the basic objective of this specific literature is to stud the literary sources which are related to the mentioned topic have been studied in order to understand the nature of consumer and how the social media marketing can influence it. Analysis of Literature Fuchs (2013) explains that the social media is a platform where the content of the web is altered and shared by the users at any given time. The complex aspects of the social media have been explained in this given literature which elaborates on the positive and negative aspects of the social media platform. The requirement of information regarding the media has been established with case studies on Facebook, Google, WikiLeaks and Wikipedia. Thus, the potency of the media landscape in this new platform is explained. It can be said that the various aspects of the social media has been explained with appropriate case study. However, the effectiveness of the same on the behaviour of the regular users is explained in limited manner. Asur and Huberman (2010) explain the social media content can be utilised in order to predict the outcomes in the real world. In order to acquire effective conclusions, the authors delved into further practical studies. It was maintained that the twitter chats were utilised in order to predict the revenue of box office of movies. It can be said that the effectiveness of the viral marketing were further studied as well to make sure that the effectiveness of the social media is predicted in a proper manner. Furthermore, it was also detected how the excitement of the potential consumers available on the social media is one of the major factors that decide the fate of any specific film. In their study of social media marketing, Bashar et al. (2012) notices that the effectiveness of the social media marketing can be established only when the regular information are updated in accordance with the requirement of the consumers. On the basis of the empirical study of 150sample size who is regular users of social networking sites, it was recommended that in order to provide the consumer with what they want, it is important that the transactional relationships are translated into social relationship. Thus, the effectiveness of the marketing tool is explained with the help of primary resource. On the other hand, another aspect of the social media as a marketing tool has been explained as well. It can be seen in the study undertaken by Hays et al. (2013) that the social media is one of the potent tools which can make sure that any business is able to reach a wider number of target customers with utilization of limited resources. The prominence of these platforms as the suitable factors of destination marketing organisation has been elaborated as well. The destination marketing organizations of the top 10 most visited countries are studied with the help of semi structured interviews. It can observe from the study that the usage of the social media among the DMOs is still not that relevant. However, various experimental procedures are conducted which can be effective in ensuring that the useful business strategies are implemented to witness considerable growth for the business. Tuten and Solomon (2014) describes that in order to make sure that the social media marketing is able to acquire the set targets and able to reach any business towards considerable goals, it is important that the suitable application of strategies are done. It is essential that the most fitting strategy is selected for any given company and it is applied in such a way that it suits the business. In addition to this, it has been elucidated in the study that how the esse4ntial theories of marketing can be practically applied in the practical sphere and how the most beneficial business results are acquired properly. It has been explained in the study by Rani (2015) that the consumer behaviour is dependent on multiple factors that prompt them to buy any specific product from any given company. It has been determined by the researcher that one of the most common feature that influences any consumer is the ability to communicate with the utilisation of appropriate media channels. It has been further observed that with the help of appropriate communication, a standard connect with the consumers can be established which, in turn, will make sure that the consumers are able to comprehend about the features of a certain product and buy it to meet their specific requirements. In support of what has been observed by Rani, it can be observed in case of Schiffman et al. (2013) that the consumer behaviour is dependent upon the capability of any company to attract and retain the attention of the target consumer. Hence, it is important that the suitable market research is done in order to make sure that the correct segmentation is being targeted. Thus, as pr the explanation of the authors, it has been inferred that the companies delve into various strategies to make sure that the faith of the target customers can be channelized and retained in order to get the suitable and profitable business outcomes (Di Pietro and Pantano, 2012). By making sure that considerable channels are utilised to not only reach the message to the potential buyers, but it also ensures that the target customers are able to express their satisfaction or dissatisfaction in a proper manner. However, it has been explained by the authors that capturing the attention of the customers is not enough to ensure the manipulation of customer behaviour. It is important that the attention is converted into interest. Thus, the requirement of engaging into proper communication channel can said to be an effective manner. The acceptance of the consumer towards a product is important to make sure that the organisation is able to get the standard reputation in the market (Schiffman et al. 2013). Hence, understanding their requirements and perspectives has been recognised by the authors as well. Thus, the essentiality of strategies to influence the consumer purchasing behaviour has been recognised and elaborated by the authors. While social media is considered as a major tool in marketing these days, the perceptive power of the consumers regarding the same has been explained by Solomon (2014). It has been observed by the author that in order to make sure that the consumer behaviour is affected by the social media marketing, it is important that appropriate measurements can be done. The general feeling of any consumer regarding a certain scenario of marketing in any marketplace is required to be considered. Hence, the concept of the Consumers sentiment toward Marketing (CSM) has been recorded by the author as a potent tool to determine whether they are motivated enough to purchase a certain product or service which is being marketed on the online platform (Taylor et al. 2012). However, Fan and Gordon (2014), notices that in order to make sure that the social media is the suitable method to reach the wider mass, it is important that the consumers are able to utilize the technology in a proper manner. It has been mentioned by the author that the underutilization of the available technology by the users may result in unrewarding business approaches. Thus, the consumer behaviour in perceiving the marketing tool needs appropriate understanding from the part of the consumer as well. In accordance with the study of Mady (2011), it can be stated that the innovation Process Adaptation (IAP) is a standard instrument which can be utilized to determine the acceptance of the technology by the consumers. The innovation-decision process is extended by the IAP process that prompts a decision among the consumers either to receive or reject any particular innovation. Five step of the process have been further explained that consist knowledge regarding the innovation, formation of a specific attitude towards the innovation, decision to adopt or decline the innovation, implementation of the said innovation and lastly, confirmation of the taken decision (Mady, 2011). Thus, with the help of tools as such, it will be easier for any marketing campaign on social media to determine whether their strategies will be acceptable to the mass or not. Thus, a fulfilling campaign can be organized. It has been observed by Shankar et al. (2011) that the digital platforms are providing the customers with better powers. It was noticed by the authors that increasing numbers of marketers and retailers are using the online platforms to reach the target customers. It has been explained that the technological advancement which include better search engines, advanced interface, interactive platforms have provided the scope for the marketers to make their presence felt by the target customers. The trend of shopper marketing has been explained as well. Thus, it has been inferred that the more people perceive the online marketing, their willingness to purchase the goods are likely to get more influenced. It has been further elaborated that being an interactive platform, the social media have enough potential to make sure that the consumers can interact with the marketers and their requirements are served in a proper manner (Ho and Bodoff, 2014). As identified by Leonardi (2014), social exchange is considered as one of the most relevant theories while the online marketing is being taken into consideration. It can be said that the interactive platforms are providing the consumers ample numbers of opportunities to create content regarding any specific company. Thus, it can be seen that the social media is no more restricted to portray the target customers as passive participants. The essentiality of maintaining sound relationship with the customers has been recognized by the authors that the communication investments are required to be taken seriously (Ngai et al. 2015). It can be said that one of the main reasons of concerns is the aspect of honesty in the4se platforms. While increasing numbers of people are having access to the social platforms, the customers may get influenced by the dishonest portrayal of a company by unreliable sources as well. Biswas and Royn (2015) explain that taking into considerations the customer insights is essential. They point out that the preferences of the consumers are getting more and more influenced by several factors. Since their preferences and tastes are ever changing, it can be said that in order to suit their fancy, the social media marketing is required to take into consideration that their opinions are heard. Thus, by making sure that variety is on offer, the marketing strategies can be able to acquire the desired success in a conventional way. Literature Gap While it can be seen that elaborate research and studies have been undertaken by several researchers regarding the variables, it can be said that there lies considerable gaps as well. While marketing is one of the essential factors in growth of any business, it is important to make sure that the correct channels are utilised to reach the mass. On the basis of the recorded literature, it can be observed that most of the studies have been descriptive in nature. While the existing scenarios and scopes for the marketers to utilise the social media for influencing the target customers have been provided, what remains missing is the factor that the practical implementation of these concepts have not been studied in details. In addition to this, it can be noticed that the majority of the literature are written with the marketers point of view. Thus, the behaviour of the consumer is hugely assumed as passive. The perspectives of the consumers are required to be studied and explored more to d erive a balanced conclusion. It can, hence, be said that the requirement of wider perspective emerges while studying the impact of social media marketing on consumer behaviour. Conclusion Thus, it can be inferred from the above literature review that the social media marketing has emerged as one of the most conventional tools for both, the marketers, as well as, the consumers. It can be observed that the wider reach of the social media can ensure that the suitable target audience is reached. However, the requirement of acceptance of technology is important to make sure that the message is reaching the audience in a clear manner. In addition to this, it is also important t take into account that the interactive platforms are provides a two way communication. Hence, establishing a standard relationship with the consumers is necessary to make sure that the business goals are achieved effectively. Reference List: Asur, S. and Huberman, B.A., 2010, August. Iago Analysis Essay Example For Students
Iago Analysis Essay Shakespeareââ¬â¢s Iago is one of Shakespeareââ¬â¢s most complex villains. At first glance Iagoââ¬â¢s character seems to be pure evil. However, such a villain would distract from the impact of the play and would be trite. Shakespeare to add depth to his villain makes him amoral, as opposed to the typical immoral villain. Iagoââ¬â¢s entire scheme begins when the ââ¬Å"ignorant, ill-suitedâ⬠Cassio is given the position he desired. Iago is consumed with envy and plots to steal the position he feels he most justly deserves. Iago deceives, steals, and kills to gain that position. However, it is not that Iago pushes aside is conscience to commit these acts, but that he lacks a conscience to begin with. Iagoââ¬â¢s amorality can be seen throughout the play and is demonstrated by his actions. For someone to constantly lie and deceive oneââ¬â¢s wife and friends, one must be extremely evil or, in the case of Iago, amoral. In every scene in which Iago speaks one can point out his deceptive manner. Iago tricks Othello into beleiving that his own wife is having an affair, without any concrete proof. Othello is so caught up in Iagoââ¬â¢s lies that he refuses to believe Desdemona when she denies the whole thing. Much credit must be given to Iagoââ¬â¢s diabolical rowess which enables him to bend and twist the supple minds of his friends and spouse. In todayââ¬â¢s society Iago would be called a psychopath without a conscience not the devil incarnate. Iago also manages to steal from his own friend without the slightest feeling of guilt. He embezzles the money that Roderigo gives him to win over Desdemona. When Roderigo discovers that Iago has been hoarding his money he screams at Iago and threatens him. However, when Iago tells him some fanciful plot in order to capture Desdemonaââ¬â¢s heart Roderigo forgets Iagoââ¬â¢s theft and agrees to kill Cassio. Iagoââ¬â¢s keen intellect is what intrigues the reader most. His ability to say the right things at the right time is what makes him such a successful villain. However, someone with a conscience would never be able to keep up such a ploy and deceive everyone around him. This is why it is necessary to say that Iago is amoral, because if you donââ¬â¢t his character becomes fictional and hard to believe. At the climactic ending of the play, Iagoââ¬â¢s plot is given away to Othello by his own wife, Emilia. Iago sees his wife as an obstacle and a nuisance so he kills her. He kills her not as much out of anger but for pragmatic reasons. Emilia is a stumbling block in front of his ath. She serves no purpose to him anymore and she can now only hurt his chances of keeping the position he has been given by Othello. Iagoââ¬â¢s merciless taking of Emiliaââ¬â¢s and Roderigoââ¬â¢s lives is another proof of his amorality. If one looks in modern day cinema, one will see the trite villain, evil to the core. Shakespeare took his villains to a higher level. He did not make them transparent like the villains of modern cinema. He gave his villains depth and spirit. Iago is a perfect example of ââ¬Å"Shakespeareââ¬â¢s villain. â⬠His amorality and cynicism give, what would be a very dull character, life.
